Rooms
As we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by the staff and they took our luggage while treating us to a refreshing welcome drink. We went to our rooms to settle down and freshen up before we head for lunch. We booked two superior suites, and we fell in love with the cosy arrangement of the room and the amazing view from our private balconies. We were given a nice complimentary fruit basket, everything we need to prepare a fresh cup of tea or coffee to sit back and enjoy the amazing sunsets from the balcony. The rooms were well furnished, clean and tidy with fresh bed linen and new towels and toiletries in the washroom. The washroom was exceptionally clean and had hot water showers, hairdryers, makeup mirrors and a separate shower area. The rooms were very spacious and all you feel like is snuggling under the blankets and catching a movie. The hotel provides a tv with a cable connection as well as free wifi. What else do you need in the perfect weather of Ramboda? All this screams that it is an ideal getaway to relax from the chaotic lifestyle in the city.
Food
On our first day at the hotel, we went to the outdoor restaurant on the deck for a late lunch. The staff was quite attentive. They had an extensive menu featuring both local and international cuisines. Since we were starving from the long train ride we ordered mixed fried rice, hot butter cuttlefish and a vegetable chop suey along with some soft drinks. It was one of the best Chinese I have tried here in Sri Lanka and their hot butter cuttlefish was spot on. The vegetable was fresh and cooked to perfection. The portions were great and we loved their quick service. Their hot butter cuttlefish is a must-have! For dessert, we tried their classic white chocolate and blueberry mousse cake and it was quite a treat! I am not much of a sweet tooth, but this was just the right balance of sweetness and flavour. We also tried their chocolate cake and blueberry cheesecake during our stay at the hotel. The blue
